If it turns out that there is a God, I don't think that he's evil. But the worst that you can say about him is that basically he's an underachiever.

woody allen, in his film "deconstructing harry"..

        Harry(Woody): “Women are god.”
        Hilly: “God’s a woman?”
Harry: “There are women…we don’t know if there’s a god but there are women, not in some imaginary heaven, but right here on earth, and some of them.. shop at Victoria’s Secret.”

the whole movie seems somewhat psychologically autobiographical. methinks he's trying to say something here.

this is true of woody allen's entire filmography.

      > -Nietzsche

isnt that technically with an exclamation mark?
i know its picky, but i think its a touch that really works in this context

Actually I always thought it was "Gentlemen, God is dead!", but it apparently depends on the source. Wikipedia ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/God_is_dead ) says it appears in three of his books, and the first appearance is as I wrote it. I like the exclaimation point too though.

There is no God but Man.
Man has the right to live by his own law.
Man has the right to live in the way that he wills to do.
Man has the right to dress as he wills to do.
Man has the right to dwell where he wills to dwell.
Man has the right to move as he will on the face of the earth.
Man has the right to eat what he will.
Man has the right to drink what he will.
Man has the right to think what he will.
Man has the right to speak as he will.
Man has the right to write as he will.
Man has the right to mould as he will.
Man has the right to carve as he will.
Man has the right to work as he will.
Man has the right to rest as he will.
Man has the right to love as he will, where, when and whom he will.

Man has the right to kill those who would thwart these rights.

one of my favorite quotes on the subject comes from a class mate from high school. She was a baptist, and had posted the following quote as her yahoo messenger status:"Jesus loves you, but I'm his favorite".
